For most people in the country it's a clear cut choice on who to support for the Super Bowl XLI - the Indianapolis Colts or the Chicago Bears. But for our company, Blaine's Business Services, Inc. located in Highland, Indiana we are in-between the two great, warring cities.

Highland, a town within Northwest Indiana is torn between who to support in Super Bowl XLI. It's not an easy choice for the almost one million people who live in Northwest Indiana, also nicknamed "The Region." The Northwest Indiana Region is comprised of seven counties: Lake, Porter, La Porte, Newton, Jasper, Pulaski, and Starke.

The Region has much in common with each team's city. The Region is located within close proximity of Chicago, but is located within the same state as the Colts. Depending on where you live within The Region, a drive to Soldier Field is only about an hour, where the RCA Dome is almost a three hour drive. The Region shares the same time zone with the Bears yet the Colts are in a different time zone. The Region and the Colts share the same state capital city. Chicago and The Region share the shore line of Lake Michigan. At such a close distance to Chicago, many Hoosiers commute on a daily basis into Chicago. We also share the same radio stations and news channels. The Bears held training camp at St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana for almost thirty years.

When the Bears temporarily relocated to the University of Illinois in Champaign, because of a renovation of Soldier Field, the team considered holding home games at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, one hour away from The Region, the opposite direction of Chicago.

"It's perplexing," says Blaine Hilton, president of Blaine's Business Services. "We are probably the only people in the country that must deal with this. For some like me it can become problematic, especially when dealing with clients," Hilton says with a laugh. "Football is deadly serious, and when we have clients on one side of the ball, one wrong word might send our clientèle into a rage," he says.

"Depending where you live in The Region, it can take anywhere from twenty minutes to an hour to get to Soldier Field," says Joseph Duron, Sales Director. "We're all Hoosiers, so there are a lot of people who are excited to see both teams in the Super Bowl. The decision is even harder to make because both teams haven't been in the Super Bowl in over twenty years. No matter which team wins, the residents of The Region will win."

Blaine's Business Services, Inc. has officially launched a web site that will allow users to cast their votes on which team The Region should back. They will also be able to add some comments. The company will be launching a series of videos on how they predict the game may go. Chicagoans and Northwest Indiana residents are excited for the Bears. But at the same time, the Colts have taken in fans from the southern states. Just about the entire state of Indiana is backing the Colts, but does The Region?
