RSU, which was unveiled at the opening of the Video on the Net conference in San Jose, opens up to companies the vast potential of creating on-line communities by incorporating user-generated content into their video strategy for internal and external communications. Employees, partners or outside audiences can easily upload original video content to corporate environments in the same way they have enjoyed at popular consumer destination sites.
As companies begin to incorporate user-generated content into those strategies, RSU provides what the video players of those destination sites do not - the highest quality, control, branding and metrics.
"Online video is becoming pervasive in corporate environments and UGC is the next chapter to be explored, as it may be the single most effective way to date of creating community," said Bart Feder, CEO of The FeedRoom. "We've listened to our customers and believe RSU gives companies a next-generation tool that goes far beyond simply embedding a consumer upload site into their environment. That route gives them no sense of their audience and potentially opens them up to the litigation associated with many of these sites."
