2008 Connecticut Business Expo Offers Business Resource Bullpen: Panel of Experts to Answer Business Questions

Hartford, Conn. (PRWEB) May 18, 2008 -- Beyond networking and educational opportunities for area business executives, the new 2008 Connecticut Business Expo will also offer an Business Resource Bullpen to aid small businesses and start-ups in Connecticut. The expo will run from 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.

The Business Resource Bullpen brings together business experts from over 20 City, State and Federal agencies to assist Connecticut's small businesses, providing on the spot advice, applications and next steps. Businesses will have access to a range of programs and services on business topics including government procurement opportunities, financing, incentives, licensing requirements and business planning.

"The bullpen was introduced last year with great success," said Gail Lebert, publisher of Hartford Business Journal, whose company, in conjunction with Event Management is producing the show. "It allows business owners to find the answers to all of their questions in one convenient section of our show floor."

At last year's expo, HABCO, an award-winning, woman-owned business in Glastonbury was assisted by the Department of Economic and Community Development at the bullpen. Later that year, they were honored with the United Space Alliance Award.

"Everyone at the bullpen was very helpful and we gained beneficial information," said Kristin Muschett, President and CEO of HABCO. "We were not aware of the many training grants available through the state. Since learning about them at the expo we have taken advantage of several fantastic training programs, both internal and external, and have been reimbursed to the tune of $70,000. It's been great for our staff and for business."

This year, the bullpen will be separated into three categories to more efficiently meet the needs of attendees. These categories will cover:
