Shirley Shriver, with more than 25 years of creating and implementing new research and planning strategies at hfa, is promoted to vice president of research and marketing services. Formerly she was vice president of marketing services. She is responsible for directing hfa's primary and secondary research efforts, as well as its marketing strategy development and planning.

Shriver is within the forefront of the marketing industry because of her work that combines ethnographic research and marketing planning into a way that can help companies improve sales. This newly branded problem solving is hfa's Truthpoint™ strategic planning process.

At the core of the "Truthpoint strategic planning is in-depth, deliberative, qualitative research that enables us to fully understand the thought processes of our clients' customers," Shriver said. "With this form of ethnography, we are able to design and implement marketing campaigns whose underpinnings are derived from customers' needs and desires."

Shriver has also been a leader in developing the agency's interactive marketing division, the Buzzwerks™.

Shriver is a recipient of the 2004 Women of Professional Excellence Award given by the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA) and a member of the American Marketing Association (former president of the Akron/Canton Chapter), Northeast Ohio Direct Marketing Association and Marketing Advisory Board at The University of Akron. She is also on the board of NOCA (Northeast Ohio Communicators Association). She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration with a major in marketing and a minor in computer science from The University of Akron. She and her husband reside in Tallmadge.

David Kinkelaar joins hfa as senior account manager and oversees the agency's diversified-brands account service team. Kinkelaar uses his experience as key project manager and internal and external contact for a wide variety of brands to supervise and manage account teams and plan, develop and execute marketing programs.

In a previous position at G2 Promotional Marketing in Chicago, Kinkelaar was senior account executive on the J.M. Smucker Company, Dairy Management Inc.™ and Jarden Home Brands accounts. Prior to that, he was senior account executive at Graziano, Krafft & Zale Inc. in Chicago, and he worked on the Hawthorne Race Course and Videojet® Technologies accounts.

Kinkelaar holds a master's degree in integrated marketing communications from Roosevelt University and a bachelor's degree in finance from Kent State University. A Cleveland Ad Association member, Kinkelaar resides in Akron with his wife.

Larry Yoder has recently been promoted to manager of interactive production for hfa's interactive marketing division, the Buzzwerks. Yoder delivers innovative online solutions to clients with his team of Web project managers and developers. Together they work to drive process and innovation at hfa.

In 2003, he joined hfa with many years of experience delivering interactive solutions to clients. While at Ernst & Young Consulting, he gained extensive knowledge in the development and management of online subscriber programs, corporate portals, intranets, Web sites, eLearning and communications programs. Yoder's knowledge of development processes along with the ability to assess client needs enable him to create effective online strategies, processes and business models at hfa.

Yoder has a Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications with a specialization in television production from Ohio University. He lives in Shaker Heights with his wife and children.
